Waka Tete

For the past day my group Ruby, Tui, Tk, Kahukura, and my self have been researching about the waka Tete. We had to find out what it was made out of, how many people could fit into it, and what tools people used to make the waka Tete.

What I found a little hard was trying to find the image of the tools that were used to make the waka Tete. What I found easy was the research cause when I would search it it would just pop up so yeah thats what I thought was easy.

Matauranga Mahi Activities

Today we have been learning about Tupaia and Captain Cook. Part of it we had to do in activity and the activity I did was The Longest Migration In Humanity History. We had to research stuff like about what would you bring if you were travelling on boat or on airplane from New Zealand to London. And similar questions. I liked doing this activity because I thought it was fun. Do you think you could do a similar activity?

Tupaia And Captain Cook

Today we have been doing research about Tupaia and Captain Cook. The first thing we had to search up was, who was the most famous navigator in New Zealand, Captain Cook or Tupaia. There weren't  really an answer so its pretty much based on your a pinion. We had to make a slide and search up facts about Tupaia and Captain Cook. I really liked researching about Tupaia and Captain Cook because I liked learning new things.

Do you guys think you could do a research about Tupaia and Captain cook?

Kapehu Whetu [Star Compost]

This term we have been working on voyages, earlier in the term we had to do tasks and put it on docs and slides, and stuff. We also learnt how Maori got to New Zealand. We learnt that Maori used a Kapehu Whetu [Star Compost] to find there way to New Zealand going through the pacific ocean. After that we had to go on a google drawing and make a strar compost. My favorite part about learning about the star compost was learning new things about the star compost.

History Of The South Island.

This week we have been learning about the history of the South island, we had to go in pairs of two so I went with T.K. We had to choose what we were going to research about, out of Rakaihautu, Tuhaitara, Rakaitauheke, and Tutekawa. Myself and T.K picked Rakaihautu. After we got our chromebooks we started researching, what tupuna is Rakaihautu well known for. And what iwi is Rakaihautu affiliated to, and the last question was what stories or waiata were written about Rakaihautu. So we researched all that up and then put it on a slide. I really liked the researching because it was good to learn new stuff I didnt know.

This is a picture of my Research.

Do you think you would want to research about Rakaihautu?

We had to at least write 5 facts about the person you write about. But I did more facts about these people. You were only supposed to write about one famous person, but I finished early so then the teacher said I could do another one so thats when I did Stan Walker. Do you guys think you could do something like this?

Doubling and Halving

Today, in pangarau, we learnt doubling and halving. We had a a problem that we had to work.

Here is an example:

16 x 14= 224 Half of 16 is 8. Double 16 is 28.

112 x 12=224 Half of 112 is 56. Double of 112 is 224.

32 x 7=224 Half of 32 is 16. Double 32 is 64.

28 x 8=224 Half of 28 is 14. Double 28 is 56.

14 x 16=224 Half of 14 is 7. Double 14 is 28.

Do you know how to double and half? If not I hop you learn how to
