Trite Planicep spiders
Today at school a very exciting thing happened, a scientists came and taught us about spiders. We learnt a lot of knew and cool facts. The most coolest thing that happened was that we got to see them, and hold them in a jar. The one thing that I didn't like about that was that I could not stay there for the hole entire time because I had to do other work. Do you want to hold a Trite Planicep spider?
This is the link to my slide that has a lot of cool facts on it.

My Visual Mihimihi.
For today we had to make a visual mihimihi on google slides. First we had to write a kaimihi then a whakatauki, pepeha, then my family. It was alright doing it because I already knew half of it, which was good. The hardest thing about it for me was trying to find the write whakatauki that suits me. The easiest part about it was when I had to write my pepeha and family because I already knew it. Have you ever writen a visual mihimihi?

Make your name challenge!
Today at school we had to go in pairs and use a iPad to take pictures of things that start with any letter in our name. It wasn't that hard, the only time it was hard was when we had like a z or something in your name, something hard. The easiest part about it was that there were a lot of things in the class that started with letters in your name. This is a picture of my creation.
Have you done a make your name challenge?

Can't wait to be back at school!!!
Yesterday I found out we are going into level 2 lock down. The reason why I am happy is because its hard doing the work from home, because sometimes it gets, confusing. The other reason is because I can go to school and play with my friends. I think it has just been over three weeks of not being home. The work at home was alright, but just a little annoying, and confusing. I am also going to miss staying at home, I also hope we don't go back in lock down. See you at school on Thursday!! Do you guys miss school, or would you rather stay home? Let me know.

Soccer, fun!!
Today, me, and my, family went to the, beach. Me, and my, brother found two big logs, and 5 medium sticks. Unfortunately I forgot to take pictures, but I will just tell you. When we found the, stick, and the other sticks, me and my, brother decided to make a soccer goal. We already had a ball which was good. We sticked the two big logs, up, about 10 M apart then put the medium logs, about 2 m behind the big sticks. The hardest part about making the soccer goal was that, I'd have to make a hole about the write size for it to stand. The easiest part was finding the sticks, because all, we had to do was walk on the beach.
But like I said I forgot to take pictures. Do you think one day you could make a goal at the beach?
My cool nature art
Today at, home, during lock down, the teachers gave me a task to do. The task was to go for a walk or in your back yard, and find some stuff in the garden, or anything like rocks. I went for a walk with my dog Kobe, and we found some rocks, and leaves so we decided to make a koru. We used the rocks for the koru, then we put some leaves next to the rocks to make it look, like a real, koru.

My whakatauki
Today my teachers gave me a task about how me and my family have been coping at home. I picked this, whakatauki Wh because we try not to enoy each other so, we have to work together. The easy part about finding the, whakatauki was that it just popped up right in front of me. Do you think you can find a, whakatauki like this?
Mars and Jupiter
Today in lockdown I done this slide with activities to do, on them. The activities were pretty much just research. What we had to find out was how far the planets were and, 1 fact about it. It was pretty easy. I think the easiest thing about it was finding, 1 fact about it.
This is the link to my work Mars and Jupiter.
What fact do you like better the, Mars one or the, Jupiter one?

The black mamba
Today I made a slide about Kobe Bryant, if you don't know him he is a NBA basketball player. He is known to be one of the best basketball players in NBA history. When I was writing my slide about Kobe I actually found out some new facts about him, that I didn't know. The easiest part about my writing was that I already knew stuff about him so I could just write it. There wasn't really a hard part for me.
This is a link to my work KOBE
Do you think you can do some writing about Kobe to?

MALICE THE PALACE!
Our big, amazing walk
Today during lock down we went for a big walk in Linwood. We were gone for a wee while and was really tired. It was me, my dad, brother, and sister. They were pretty tired after to. We also brought my dog Kobe for the walk. He was a good boy. When me and my brother were walking we found this cool as looking rock. It was green, with a little bit of blue in it. By the time we were half way in our walk we really needed a water, but we could handle it. The hardest part about our walk was our legs were kind of getting sore. Have you guys been for a walk during lock down?

What I have been doing during lock down.
In lock down me and my whanau [family] have been taking our dog Kobe for a walk to the beach, and the park. Speaking of the beach and the park today we went to the beach and played in the sand, and me and my brother[ Kauri} was trying to be funny and recreate the movie boy. The scene where they were at the beach acting like they are warriors and fighting the enemies. Kobe my dog is only 4 months old, only just a puppy. He was born on the 4th of April. He is a golden retriever. That is what we have been doing in the lock down.
What have you been doing in lock down?
Iziah's lock down mahi
While we have been in lock down I have been doing all these activities about all sorts of things like Anagrams and things like puzzles. The hardest part about it is because we are doing it on computer so some times I find it hard to find the other stuff. The easy thing about it is that the work is simple, and right there. What I mean by that is that if its on a slide, and it says highlight, all you need to do is find the highlighter button.

Ahurea [cultures] around the world.
I worked in a ropu to research Chinese culture. We discussed traditional kai, songs, games and clothes. Myself and my group found out some facts about Chinese people. One fact I found was most Chinese people have black hair, and that most Chinese people think the world is changing too fast.
Do you guys think Chinese people are good to research about?
Chinese poster
The last few days we have been making a culture poster. We had to pick a culture, so we picked Chinese. Our poster wasn't as big as our waka poster so we really had to fit everything into it. Myself, Tui, TK, Ruby had a slide each, and had to write some facts about it.
What I found quite easy was doing the title with the font writing. What I found kinda hard was working as a team because, every body was arguing and stuff. My slide was the slide with a map on it. I had to find a map with China on it and pin it, but in stead I just put in arrow where China is. Do you think you could make a poster like me and my group?
This is a link, and a picture to my work. Chiinese culture.

Waka Tete
For the past day my group Ruby, Tui, Tk, Kahukura, and my self have been researching about the waka Tete. We had to find out what it was made out of, how many people could fit into it, and what tools people used to make the waka Tete.
What I found a little hard was trying to find the image of the tools that were used to make the waka Tete. What I found easy was the research cause when I would search it it would just pop up so yeah thats what I thought was easy.

Matauranga Mahi Activities
Today we have been learning about Tupaia and Captain Cook. Part of it we had to do in activity and the activity I did was The Longest Migration In Humanity History. We had to research stuff like about what would you bring if you were travelling on boat or on airplane from New Zealand to London. And similar questions. I liked doing this activity because I thought it was fun. Do you think you could do a similar activity?
This is a link to my work The Longest Migration In Humanity History
Tupaia And Captain Cook
Today we have been doing research about Tupaia and Captain Cook. The first thing we had to search up was, who was the most famous navigator in New Zealand, Captain Cook or Tupaia. There weren't really an answer so its pretty much based on your a pinion. We had to make a slide and search up facts about Tupaia and Captain Cook. I really liked researching about Tupaia and Captain Cook because I liked learning new things.
Do you guys think you could do a research about Tupaia and Captain cook?

Kapehu Whetu [Star Compost]
This term we have been working on voyages, earlier in the term we had to do tasks and put it on docs and slides, and stuff. We also learnt how Maori got to New Zealand. We learnt that Maori used a Kapehu Whetu [Star Compost] to find there way to New Zealand going through the pacific ocean. After that we had to go on a google drawing and make a strar compost. My favorite part about learning about the star compost was learning new things about the star compost.
This is a link to my star compost. My Star Compost
Do you guys think you could do a google drawing and make a star compost?
Minecraft Mystery Box Monday: Build a House in the Sky
History Of The South Island.
This week we have been learning about the history of the South island, we had to go in pairs of two so I went with T.K. We had to choose what we were going to research about, out of Rakaihautu, Tuhaitara, Rakaitauheke, and Tutekawa. Myself and T.K picked Rakaihautu. After we got our chromebooks we started researching, what tupuna is Rakaihautu well known for. And what iwi is Rakaihautu affiliated to, and the last question was what stories or waiata were written about Rakaihautu. So we researched all that up and then put it on a slide. I really liked the researching because it was good to learn new stuff I didnt know.
This is a picture of my Research.
Do you think you would want to research about Rakaihautu?

You were only supposed to write about one famous person, but I finished early so then the teacher said I could do another one so thats when I did Stan Walker. Do you guys think you could do something like this?

Doubling and Halving
Today, in pangarau, we learnt doubling and halving. We had a a problem that we had to work.
Here is an example:
16 x 14= 224 Half of 16 is 8. Double 16 is 28.
112 x 12=224 Half of 112 is 56. Double of 112 is 224.
32 x 7=224 Half of 32 is 16. Double 32 is 64.
28 x 8=224 Half of 28 is 14. Double 28 is 56.
14 x 16=224 Half of 14 is 7. Double 14 is 28.
Do you know how to double and half? If not I hop you learn how to

Solving a statistical investigation
In math's we learnt how to pose a statistical investigation. It was quite confusing but then after it wasn't confusing because then we new what to do.
This picture shows that In 2020 I did a lot more blog posts then in 2019 because I think that when we had to go in lock down our teachers maid us do a lot more blog posts that's why I think that we did more blog posts in 2020. I think that the only reason why I did less blog posts is because I was only learning how to do a blog posts and because my teachers were also learning to. This year I've only done 6 but I will probably do some more later in the year. My goal for in the future is for after every session we do, we could maybe do a blog post.
Have you guy's ever posed a statistical investigation before?

There is power in small things!
Today at school we learnt a new whakatauki, and what this whakatauki is about, there is power in small things. This whakatauki means to me that no matter how tall you are or how short you are you can still be strong in the things you do in life. So don't let big things stop you from what you want to do in your life and what you can do in life.

Karakia
Today at school Aukaha, Te Whetu, Pippin and I were trying to find away to show people how to learn our Karakia. We all decided on doing a song but Aukaha wanted to do a rap so me Pippin and Te Whetu sang the English part and then Aukaha rapped the English part.
Kua mutu a matou mahi mo tenei wa. Manaakitia mai matou katoa. O matou hoa. O matou whanau aio ki te Aorangi. We have finished our work. Give support to the person who is speaking. We are friends. We are family. Be calm. go to fielding. This Karakia is mainly used for the end of the day or at the end of a hui. Mainly old and young people can use it
Here is the English rap by Aukaha
